Janice, thank you for the most perceptive analysis I've read on Trump's (very welcome) victory and its possible consequences (or lack of them) on the issues we MRAs care about. Rich men, as a rule, have little interest in men's issues - being largely insulated from so many of them - and of course Erin Pizzey reported that the well-off men who bankrolled the women's and children's shelters in London in the 1970s refused to give a penny towards the establishment of men's shelters. So we shouldn't expect rich men to suddenly start caring about less well-off disadvantaged men.
Yes the catch 22 is that there is nothing more traditionally masculine than protecting the weak, women and children. Thus philanthropist men will queue up to be seen to protect the weak and needy, by which of course they mean women and children. And everyone remains mystified about how to solve "rough sleeping" (90% men) nor notices the incongruence of the claims to be weak and needy, and "amazing" and "strong women" simultaneously.
